Breakfast In London

London's eating habits are becoming more continental. There are more and more establishments serving food and drink into the small hours than ever before, making a late night four or five in the morning.

After all, you know you're among friends - the only thing you don't have in common is that you've been to different parties and that's a problem that can be sorted the next night.

After the party's over is an excellent time to experience old London at her slumbering best and you'll find your not alone on a fine evening. Take a stroll around london town, see all the famous buildings in the shimmering moonlight. Visit Covent Garden? Well, it's still magical in the wee small hours, but if you want to experience the hustle and bustle of an authentic fruit and veg market and watch the characters who run London's finest greengrocery establishments, as they vie for the finest and the freshest, then make your way to New Covent Garden in Vauxhall. The banter alone makes it well worth a visit.

If you want to enjoy the fragrant atmosphere of your favourite flower shopmultiplied a thousand times you must visit the flower market in Vauxhall also. It's open from 4am but do try and get there before 8am to find that something special for your fair lady. You may notice a bit of an exodus around 5am. This is when people in the know head upstairs to the Barley Mow pub.

Across the town there are a host of late night places catering for the up-all-nighters.
